Bringing motion design to uniquely large format displays, like the Oculus at the Barclay's Center in downtown Brooklyn, is something that's been on my creative bucket list for years. When Bird + Stone reached out requesting a rapid turnaround for some digital signage at the Barclay's Center, it was very much one of those 'hell yes' moments - even if it meant pulling some late nights dropping keyframes.

Working with Bird + Stone's talented designer, Dylan Aiello, I created a seamless loop for Barclay's exterior 360° Oculus and some smaller interior will call digital signs. These displays went live the same weekend Michelle Obama made her stop at Barclay's Center for her "Becoming" book tour. I like to think she was excited to see the design's messaging focus on one theme: empowering women.

This project pushed me into some exciting new territory, allowing me to support a business dedicated to long-overdue social change. Frankly, I think that's a pretty dope thing for companies to do.

Previsualization done in Blender to accurately convey what the animation would look like formatted for the Oculus.
