Discovery

Copado connected with me during the lead-up to the annual Salesforce event, TrailheaDX. This event, geared towards developers on the platform, brings 14,000+ attendees from across the world.

My primary objective was to develop unique elements for Copado's show presence, drawing attention to their booth even amongst a sea of competitor exhibits.

Mixing custom JavaScript expressions and AE's Essential Graphics to easily flip sign animations and select the correct logo based on source text.

Design

Working on an expedited project timeline, I relied heavily on assets provided by Copado's in-house designer. By expanding on the pre-conceived design system for their 'Summer '19' product release, I focused solely on bringing movement to the static elements. In doing so, I created a procedural animation rig within After Effects for simplified use (and future reuse) in their materials.

Some BTS wireframes from AE of the design and animation process.

Delivery

The final deliverable was a dynamic loop system — a tri-screen horizontal display that could run independently or together as a unified canvas. The modular approach meant Copado's team could mix and match pieces across different booth configurations without needing custom re-renders each time.

In a hall packed with enterprise software companies competing for developer attention, motion that actually moves — and moves well — makes a measurable difference. Copado stood out.
