Discovery
In each of our lives, there are very often teachers and educators who profoundly impact how we learn about and interact with the world around us. In 2020, Ahron Oddman, a colleague from my time at nCino, called and asked if I'd be interested in designing an explainer video for his new company, Presentation Systems South. As excited as I was to work with him on bringing their new branding to life, I also saw it as an opportunity to support those educators in my life who helped foster my love for creativity and learning (including many of my family members)!
Capturing the essence of PSS in a tryptych - downloadable resources for teachers paired with the hardware to print, laminate and present within the classroom.

Design
To ensure this video felt universal to teachers from all backgrounds, I opted to design highly stylized characters to try and avoid the traps of developing characters that are overrepresented in media.
The “student” characters are actually a combination of elements from the PSS logo. This served two purposes: brand equity, and easy character rigging! Rubberhose in After Effects handled the rigging requirements like champ. All around a win-win.

Delivery
This video was launched alongside an incredible new website, complete with brand elements from the video and beyond. There was so much excitement from the PSS team and educators eager to try out the new platform. File this project under "feels like motion made some lives better". Counting myself lucky!
